What do you think?
Walker is sick - again. Since beginning elementary school, he has consistantly had something - cold, fever, puking - normal kid stuff.
Saturday he woke up with fever. We gave him Tylenol and that was that. He has a pretty severe cold, poor dear is sneezing and blowing and blowing and blowing, and an on/off again cough.
During the night he was burning with fever. He woke up this morning without fever. I just gave him cold meds and Tylenol (just in case) and will keep him home from school.
HERE IS THE QUESTION: Would you take your kid to the doc with these symptoms?
I think he just has a rotton cold. His dad thinks he should see a doctor. I don't think he needs to see a doc. What do you think?

Reese's ROTC unit just had its formal inspection. His unit is made up of two high schools (grades 9 and 10) and one senior high school (grades 11 and 12)
At this Off-Year Triennial Formal Inspection, his unit retained the select designation as an "Honor Unit With Distinction," and for next year again, their leader will have nomination authority to the military academies. No School Today
Bryce decided to spend the day with us and then we planned to hook up with our friends Bernie and Patrick.
Our first stop was to our Asperger Group meeting place to set up for a meeting. Easter Seals is speaking to us Wednesday to tell us about the services they offer so we wanted to be set up.
After setting up, we headed to Cici's pizza for lunch. The kids ate pizza and played some games. I stuck to my diet and had salad only. No pizza, no delicous cinnamon rolls and no brownies. Did not miss a thing.
Next stop was the rec center for swimming. The water was just right and everyone had fun. I am pooped! Back to school tomorrow!

I am a short order cook
Talapia
..dredged in egg and flour/corn starch then sauted in olive oil for Don and Reese
..baked in a foil packet with lemon for moi
Baked Sweet Potato
..for me
Brussel Spprouts cut into ribbons and sauted in a touch of olive oil with a splash of balsamic topped with almonds
.. for everyone but Walker
Pasta in olive oil and butter
..for the guys
Open window (eggs fried in toast)
...for Walker
Pancakes...for Waker
Cinnamin cake
..for everyone BUT moi
My potato would not/did not cook, so in the trash it went. My fish was in the oven with the cake, so was cooking painfully slow and not ready until after the kitchen was clean. I ate most the brussel sprouts and one of DS' eggs which he decided he did not really want. By time I got my fish out of the oven - it was over cooked (my fault for leaving it in that long).
Such a lot of work for a crummy dinner for me

High School
After talking to the event sponsor and the principal, I felt that it would be okay for Reese to attend the dance. We told him he had to go with a friend as that is what “normal” kids do – go with a date or a group. His cousin Mason readily agreed to go.

Don and I dropped the boys off at the dance and headed out for a quick bite of sushi and sake. We returned for the announcement of “royalty”.

My, oh my, it’s a long time since I have been to a school dance. Don was completely uncomfortable in the dark, decorated cafatorium. First, we had no idea that the dance was formal! The boys were there in jeans among the majority in suits and formal wear.

The girls ranged from floor-length gowns to hoochie-mama cocktail dresses and stiletto shoes. Lots of girls and guys in groups along with groping couples.

We waited a short time before the royalty was announced. The nominees were brought to the stage and the winners were announced. Reese was not crowned the prince – but hey, it is an honor to be nominated.
Mason had a fantastic time, connecting with girl he has not seen since junior high. Reese said he was not really interested in attending another dance, but would go again if nominated for something.
Such a learning experience for us all!

Week in Review
MONDAY: Reese is still sick and stays home from school. Don comes home from work early with same symptoms. I make it to the gym and pick up Walker from school
Evening PTA meeting. New plan our president is trying out to generate PTA interest. Boys must fend for themselves
TUESDAY: Reese decides to stay home one more day. Don stays home as well - to work on personal business and he still has cold symptoms.
WEDNESDAY: Reese returns to school, still coughing and blowing his nose. Learns he not only was nominated for "Valentine's Day Prince" but he also got enough votes to be a finalist. Winner is announced at Saturday night dance which he had not planned on attending.
Kids have dental appointment and both are picked up from school early and I miss my gym date. Walker has not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 CAVITIES. What?!
Reese and I go to our Echidnas meeting. Our new location is fabulous. We had a visiting family - a girl!, who had a great time. Hope she will come back and join our group.
Miss attending a meeting with Don same time as Echidnas. Walker goes to Grandma's house
THURSDAY. Everyone is back at school. I actually got some Ebay work completed and went to the grocery store.
At PTA Board meeting, I volunteered too much. Note to self: no talking at meetings. Fundraiser coming up and I said I would help. Get email that I am now co-chair. WTF???!!! Other co-chair not responding to my emails.
FRIDAY: Walker woke up at 5 am puking, poor guy. No gym for me today. He started to feel better in the evening. Hopefully, that is it and he will be better.
Reese is invited to the movies with friends.
SATURDAY: Too early to tell. Heading to the gym at 10 am - hope it happens! Valentines dance is tonight. 8 pm, court announced at 9. Babysitter is scheduled as long as Walker is well. Keep your fingers crossed!
